OAKLAND – After missing the entire first round series against the San Antonio Spurs, Golden State Warriors All-Star guard Stephen Curry finally made his return to the lineup.
And it is like he never left.
Curry finished with 28 points as he led the Warriors to a 121-116 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans in Game 2 of their Western Conference Semifinals series at Oracle Arena on Tuesday.
In his first game since March 23, Curry came out firing as he finished with 28 points on 8-of-15 shooting. Kevin Durant and Draymond Green combined for 49 points and as a trio, Curry, Durant, and Green had 77 of the Warriors’ 121 points.
The Pelicans will likely be happy with their performance but know they let one slip away. Anthony Davis led New Orleans with 25 points, while Jrue Holiday added 24 for New Orleans, who find themselves down 0-2 going back to the Big Easy.
”It was tough,” Davis said. ”We were in it the whole game.”
Game 3 will take place in New Orleans on Friday night.
