'Dawson's Creek' cast reuniting for a good cause

The cast of “Dawson’s Creek” will reunite for the first time in over two decades in September to rally around one of their own.

James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, Mary Beth Peil, John Wesley Shipp, Mary-Margaret Humes, Nina Repeta, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe and Busy Philipps will reunite for a live stage reading of the show’s pilot episode.

Philipps, Smith and Monroe joined the show after the first season and will read various roles in the pilot. The event is directed by “Dawson’s Creek” alum Jason Moore. It’s produced by Carl Ogawa, Jason Moore, Michelle Williams, Thomas Kail, Maggie Brohn, Kevin Williamson and Greg Berlanti.

The one-night-only charity event will support F cancer, cancer research and Van Der Beek. In 2024, the “Varsity Blues” actor was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer.

“This has been months and months in the making and it’s finally all happening!!!” Philipps said in a post on Instagram.

The reading will take place at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City on Sept. 22.

“Dawson’s Creek” premiered in 1998 and ran until 2003. The teen drama follows Van Der Beek’s character, Dawson Leery and his group of friends in the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts.
