A man was arrested Friday after leading police in a high-speed pursuit in the South Bay area.
The pursuit started around 6 p.m. when Newport Beach police officers began chasing the driver.
The California Highway Patrol took over the chase as the driver made his way through the Lynwood area. The driver reached speeds of up to 103 MPH on the 105 Freeway.
NewsChopper4 was over the chase as the driver threw trash out of the vehicle in an attempt to evade police. A passenger exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
Police pitted the vehicle and asked the driver to exit through the window, where he was shortly arrested.
