Lanes were reopened on part of the 101 Freeway in Hollywood Thursday after they were shut down emergency repairs due to a large crack in the road.
The pavement damage, which might have been caused by an earlier crash, was in the No. 3 lane of the northbound side of the freeway near Western Avenue. Caltrans crews were at the location late Thursday morning for work that required the closure of two northbound lanes.
The lanes reopened early Thursday afternoon.
Northbound traffic was backing up toward downtown Los Angeles. Southbound traffic was slowing in the area.
