A significant sinkhole and flooding have forced the closure of all directions of travel at an intersection in Oxnard, authorities said Thursday.
Oxnard city emergency crews, including police and the fire department, are assessing the situation and managing traffic near Date Street and Oxnard Boulevard.
The following road closures are in effect:
- Northbound traffic is being diverted at Oxnard Boulevard and Statham Boulevard
- Southbound lanes are closed at Oxnard Boulevard and Commercial Avenue
Additional closures affect Date Street, with northbound lanes closed at California Street and southbound lanes blocked at Pine Street.
Authorities are asking residents and commuters to avoid the area and use alternate routes until further notice.
No injuries have been reported. The cause of the sinkhole is under investigation.
