
Authorities in Malibu urged people to avoid the Broad Beach area after a construction crane was overturned Wednesday morning.
The LA County Fire Department said it initially received a call at 10:28 a.m. about a person being trapped at a construction site on Broad Beach Road, about three miles away from Zuma Beach.
One person was rescued and taken to a hospital at around 11:19 a.m..
No one else was injured.
Broad Beach Road, which runs parallel to Pacific Coast Highway, in the Broad Beach area was blocked off for the investigation and to remove the heavy equipment.

It was not immediately clear how the crane became overturned.
The LA County Sheriff’s Department urged drivers to use an alternate route.
