Hoping to buy tickets for the 2026 World Cup?

With the quadrennial tournament set to begin on June 11 with the United States, Mexico and Canada all hosting together, the ticket application will officially begin on Sept. 10.

FIFA announced the date on Tuesday, while adding that tickets would be released in phases due to the anticipated high volume of interest.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming the world back to North America, as Canada, Mexico and the United States host what will be the biggest and greatest sporting event ever,” FIFA president Gianni Infantino said in a statement. “We encourage fans everywhere to get ready to secure their place — these will be the most coveted seats in world sport.”

Fans can register their interest in buying tickets on FIFA.com’s portal, where there will be a random draw for the chance to make a purchase. If selected, fans will be assigned a time slot to buy tickets on a first come, first serve basis.

Former MLS player Bradley Wright-Phillips says the U.S. is not going to win the World Cup but explains how the MLS can still build off the momentum of the 2026 tournament to win big on the global stage.

Tickets will not be available to purchase at stadiums on matchdays, but there will be more dates for additional phases revealed at a later time, per FIFA.

It is unclear if there will be dynamic pricing for the tournament as the U.S.-based Club World Cup saw various games undergo slashes for reduced fees to boost sales.

Infantino also recently said the World Cup will have more covered stadiums in use due to the heat criticisms that stemmed from the Club World Cup. Specific plans have not yet been revealed.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
