
An hours-long standoff at a Koreatown laundromat continued into late Thursday morning after officers responded to a report of a man with a gun in the neighborhood west of downtown Los Angeles.
Police responded at about 5:40 a.m. to the area of Third Street and Catalina Avenue.
The subject of the report was holed up inside the Catalina laundromat, located in a strip mall. SWAT officers were at the scene, where nearby roads were blocked off.
Video from NewsChopper4 showed officers with weapons drawn positioned behind a pickup in front of the entrance.
It was not immediately clear whether the armed man threatened anyone or fired shots.
