For the second consecutive year,  Aviara Community Park and Carlsbad Little League will host the 13U Pony League World Series. Over the next six days, 10 teams from both the United States and overseas will play for the championship. Tickets are $10 for anyone over 12, $5 for kids age 6-11, and free to anyone under 5.

“If you love baseball, there is no better place to be over the next six days,” said Carlsbad Youth Baseball president and tournament chairman, Tom Benton. “We learned a lot from hosting last year. With two more teams here this year than last year, we’re really hoping to keep this event in Carlsbad and hopefully sign a two-year contract after this year.”

As hosts, Carlsbad’s 13U select team has earned an automatic bid to the tournament. Led by Wyatt Peabody and Rowan Nishimoto, Carlsbad will open play on Friday against Brownsville, Texas. First pitch is 6 p.m.

Joining Carlsbad in representing San Diego will be the Tecolote Little League Pony-13 team. The boys from Tecolote secured their bid after winning the 2025 West Zone championship. Infielder Niko Lacson helped Tecolote clinch the regional championship with a two-home run performance on July 7.

Tecolote’s opening-round game will be played on Friday, against Altoona, Pa. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.,
