Major championship season is over, but the golf season is far from finished.
The PGA Tour will crown a FedEx Cup champion in just a few short weeks, with the playoffs getting underway this week in Tennessee.
Defending champion Scottie Scheffler and three-time winner Rory McIlroy will be among the stars battling it out for the title this month.
Here’s everything to know for the 2025 FedEx Cup Playoffs:
What is the FedEx Cup Playoffs?
The FedEx Cup Playoffs is a series of three tournaments to crown a 2025 season champion for the PGA Tour.
Players accumulate points throughout the season to determine seeding for the playoffs, with higher-ranked players being given an advantage to start each playoff tournament.
It starts with 70 players in the first tournament before being trimmed to 50 for the second and then 30 for the final. Tournaments are played similar to any other throughout the season with four rounds — but there are no cuts after the second rounds.
Rory McIlroy became the sixth all-time Grand Slam winner and claimed his first green jacket after winning the 2025 Masters.
