Investigators are uncovering more details on a deadly early-morning shooting Friday involving an off-duty sheriff’s deputy in Tustin.
Police responded around 5:22 a.m. to a residence in the 13000 block of Tustin East Drive.
At the home, officers located a woman injured with gunshot wounds, according to the Tustin Police Department. The woman was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
Details on what led up to the shooting were not immediately available.
Since the deputy was not working or in an official capacity, the shooting was not being investigated as a deputy-involved shooting. The deputy was placed on paid administrative leave, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
