Caleb Porter was fired Monday as head coach of the New England Revolution after two seasons, the team announced.

Assistant Coach Pablo Moreira will serve as interim head coach for the rest of the season.

“I am very grateful to Caleb Porter for the energy, effort, and dedication he has brought to the Revolution over the last two years,” Revolution Sporting Director Curt Onalfo said in a statement. “I have the utmost respect for Caleb and all the tireless work he’s invested in the club, and we wish him the best moving forward.”

Onalfo is scheduled to address the media on Tuesday at noon.

Porter, 50, was hired as the head coach of the Revolution in December of 2023 after leading Portland and Columbus to Major League Soccer titles. His record in New England was 17-35-12 in MLS play and 21-36-12 overall.

He replaced Bruce Arena, who quit after being placed on administrative leave by the league pending a review into allegations that he had made insensitive and inappropriate remarks. Arena had coached the Revolution since 2019.

The Revolution play their next match on Saturday against the Philadelphia Union. The team is currently in 11th place, with a record of 8-8-14.
