Two teams will be chasing their first win of the 2025 NFL season when they square off on Sunday Night Football in Week 3, as Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will visit Russell Wilson and the New York Giants in a primetime battle of 0-2 teams.
The Chiefs are 0-2 for the first time since 2014, which was three years before they drafted Mahomes. The three-time defending AFC champions kicked off 2025 with a loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil and followed that up with a narrow defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles in a Super Bowl LIX rematch.
The Giants are also 0-2 after opening the season with two road games against NFC East rivals. The offense fell flat in Week 1 against the Washington Commanders, then Russell Wilson spoiled a spectacular performance with an overtime interception that set up the Dallas Cowboys for an improbable 40-37 win in Week 2.
Only 12.2% of teams that have started a season 0-2 have made the playoffs since 2020, when the playoff field expanded to seven teams in each conference, and only three teams have ever won a Super Bowl after an 0-2 start.
