A week after hostilities erupted, Israel and Iran continue to exchange strikes, while diplomatic efforts in Europe have yet to bear fruit. Geneva hosted high-level talks between Iran and European leaders, but the meetings ended without any significant announcements or solutions.

Friday saw Israel launch a major airstrike on missile sites in western Iran, while an Iranian missile attack in Haifa left several people wounded. The toll from the conflict continues to climb, with hundreds killed and thousands injured in Iran over the past week.

Protests broke out in Iran’s capital as citizens reacted to the ongoing Israeli attacks. At the same time, Arab foreign ministers convened in Istanbul to address the broader dangers posed by the conflict, including threats to regional oil supplies and the risk of the fighting spreading beyond Iran and Israel.

In Gaza, the humanitarian crisis is worsening. Israel’s ongoing fuel blockade has crippled essential services, with only limited fuel deliveries making it through. The United Nations and UNICEF have raised alarms over the growing number of malnourished children, urging Israel to open border crossings for aid.

With violence escalating and no diplomatic breakthrough in sight, the region remains on edge, facing both immediate dangers and long-term challenges.
