The most recognizable member of the San Diego Mojo during their first two seasons was the indoor volleyball team’s coach.
Now she’s gone.
Tayyiba Haneef-Park and the Mojo have mutually agreed to part ways, the club said Monday afternoon. Haneef-Park was named the Pro Volleyball Federation Coach of the Year in 2024 as the team advanced to the playoffs in its inaugural season. The Mojo slipped in 2025, going 11-17 and missing the playoffs.
It’s been a year of ups and downs for Haneef-Park. In May, the former Long Beach State star and three-time Olympian was inducted into the USA Volleyball Hall of Fame.
The club said it plans to conduct a national search for the coach’s replacement. Though no schedule has been released yet, the Mojo are expected to open their 2026 season in January. The club plays its home matches at Viejas Arena.
“The Mojo are grateful to Tayyiba for her relentless determination and resilience in leading the team in our first two seasons,” said San Diego Mojo president Billy Johnson. “We truly look forward to watching her succeed in the next chapter of her coaching career.”
