Shohei Ohtani’s latest milestone is making headlines off the field as his 300th career home run ball hit the auction block in Leland’s 2025 Summer Classic.
The baseball superstar reached 300 career home runs after first hitting 48 homers in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball and then 252 in Major League Baseball.
During the June 24 game against the Colorado Rockies, Ohtani hit his 27th seasonal home run, a sixth-inning blast to left field that gave the Los Angeles Dodgers an 8-3 advantage.
The Dodgers won the game 9-7.
A fan caught the ball, and it was later consigned to the auction house, according to Leland’s.
This isn’t the first time Ohtani had a historic ball on the market.
Ohtani’s notable 50-50 baseball sold for a record-breaking $4.39 million by Goldin Auctions in October 2024. He is the only player to achieve a combined 50 homers and 50 stolen bases in one season. It’s the most expensive baseball ever sold.
Bidding for Ohtani’s 300th home run ball is now live and runs through Aug. 16.
