The search is on for the thieves who’ve stolen tires from a pair of vehicles in Beverly Grove.
At least two vehicles have been targeted by the thieves, who left them elevated on cinder blocks in both instances. In one case, the thieves stole the tires of a GMC truck on the 110 block of South Hayworth Avenue.
Jonathan Gonzalez, who owns the truck that was struck, said he’s frustrated at what happened.
“Low-lives,” he said. “They just took my two tires and then I woke up with no tires at all. There’s no wheels, there’s no nothing. And it happened again with the same people, the same cinder blocks.”
In both cases, the front and back tires on the driver’s side were stolen. Surveillance footage showed a white van or truck blocking the driver’s side of one of their targets, then stealing the tires.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the operation is quick, taking about 5 to 8 minutes to complete. The thefts have occurred between the hours of 3 to 6 a.m.
“Hopefully they stop them sooner. It’s a big, white van, so that’s all I know,” Gonzalez said.
The investigation is ongoing.
