A video posted to Instagram by Los Angeles resident Ben Bruno on Tuesday shows him starting his morning by heading out for coffee at 8:15 a.m. on a bright, sunny day.
The video then cuts to him driving about three minutes later down a street in Beverly Hills—but not just any street. It’s that street, the one lined with palm trees that everyone photographs.
To clarify, there are several notable locations; according to the City of Beverly Hills, the most iconic vistas are found at North Beverly Drive and Carmelita Avenue, Carmelita Avenue and North Hillcrest Road, and North Canon Drive and Park Way.
It’s unclear which exact road Ben was driving on, and the day the video was filmed is also unknown.
Regardless, as he made his way to the coffee shop, he passed so many groups of people gathered in the middle of the tree-lined roadway that he lost count.
Others stood near the curb as traffic passed by on both sides.
“One photoshoot, two photoshoots, three, four… I’ve lost count,” Ben said as he drove down the street. “This is wild.”
Indeed, KTLA counted at least 22 people standing in the middle of the road taking or posing for pictures at 8:19 a.m., according to Ben’s video. He described the final group he passed as “a giant douche convention in the middle of the street.”
Ben’s video ended on a disappointing note.
“So I didn’t end up getting coffee. I turned around, came home, and went straight back to bed,” he said in a clip timestamped 8:23 a.m. “Guess we’ll try this another time.”
Beverly Hills officials remind individuals taking photos on the city’s tree-lined streets that they must follow city ordinances and avoid obstructing traffic in residential areas.
