Drivers through the San Gabriel Valley, you’re getting 405’d.

The eastbound side of the 10 Freeway between San Gabriel Boulevard and Rosemead Boulevard in Rosemead will see some of the lane closed for 55 hours in the coming weekends.

The first round of the lane reductions will start Friday, Sep. 5 at night and continue through Monday, Sep. 8 in the morning.

In addition to shutting down three lanes and two HOV lanes, Caltrans is also planning to close 10 Freeway on-ramps at San Gabriel Boulevard, Walnut Grove Avenue and Rosemead Boulevard.

The lane closures will allow crews to do bridge preservation work, sealing cracks and concrete overlays, Caltrans said.

There will be more weekend closures. Although Caltrans hasn’t shared the exact schedules yet, the state agency said construction work will continue through fall 2026, “with multiple 55-hour weekend ramp and lane closures scheduled for bridge preservation work on I-10.”

While detour signs will be noted in the affected area, drivers who pass through the area were encouraged to avoid the construction zone during the weekend of Sep. 5.

Residents and businesses may also experience noise, vibrations and dust from the freeway repair work, Caltrans said.

The 405 Freeway between West LA and the San Fernando Valley is going through a similar project with some of the lanes being shut down every weekend through next year.
