Two homes were broken into in the San Fernando Valley just hours apart late Sunday night into early Monday morning.
One of the homes targeted was located on Rye Street in Studio City at around 11 p.m.
This incident was considered a hot prowl since the residents were home at the time.
It was reported that shots were fired during this break-in but it was not clear who it was that fired those shots.
One person was said to have made entry into the home and left by the time police arrived.
In Sherman Oaks just after 2 a.m. another home was targeted on the 4000 block of Longridge Avenue.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the homeowners were out of the country at the time and received an alert that something was happening at their home.
Neighbors said they saw four men in hoodies jump over the fence behind the home. When officers arrived, the men had left the scene.
