July 7 will forever be a special day for one family in Apple Valley.
During the Drake family’s triple birthday celebration, Nauzhae Drake welcomed her fourth child on July 7 for the fourth time.
“They weren’t surgeries, and actually all had different due dates,” the 26-year-old mom said. “They just all came on that day.”
Drake was buying pets for 6-year-old Kewan, 4-year-old Na’zaiyla and 3-year-old Khalan when she started getting back-to-back contractions.
“She stopped by St. Mary’s and when they checked her, she was already five centimeters, so there was no turning back,” grandmother Lakesha Harrison said.
Because each child was born before the due date, all of Drake’s children have been delivered by a different doctor.
More than a week after giving birth to Kailowa, the family is still speechless as to how life panned out for the children.
The odds of having four children on the same day without medical surgery is extremely rare, according to experts. Each child also shares a birthmark on the right leg, including the baby.
Although managing four kids can be a handful, Drake said she has a good support system, and all of her children offer to help “too much,” even fighting over who gets to help first.
“I feel lucky because they are amazing. They are great kids,” she said.
Drake hopes to be her children’s best role model as she also prepares to graduate from nursing school later this year.
Moving forward, the family said they are planning one big birthday bash for all four kids.
