At least one person was killed early Saturday when a vehicle crashed and overturned in San Marcos.
The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 2:03 a.m. and was on the westbound Ronald Packard (78) Freeway at Rancho Santa Fe Road.
The driver of the vehicle was reportedly awake when freed and taken by ambulance to a hospital and San Marcos Fire Department firefighters worked to free the passenger, the CHP said.
Whether the fatality was the driver or the passenger was not immediately available.
All lanes of traffic were opened at 6:02 a.m.
