A search is underway for a driver who left the scene of a crash in Encino, leaving a passenger behind after a crash Thursday night.
The crash was reported at around 10:15 p.m. after police said the driver crashed into a tree near the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve.
The driver was headed eastbound on Burbank Boulevard when it went off the road and collided with the tree, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
One passenger was transported with severe injuries. There was no description of the driver available.
