A SigAlert has been issued on the southbound 5 Freeway in Mission Hills after a truck that caught on fire early Monday caused a major traffic backup.
NewsChopper4 was over the scene where a heavy traffic backup was seen for more than nine miles.
It appeared that only one lane was open.
Bumper to bumper traffic was spotted on the freeway all the way to where the 14 Freeway crosses Golden Valley Road.
Drivers seeking to avoid the traffic can take alternate routes like Sierra Highway down to San Fernando Road.
