Brooke Hogan Olesky, the daughter of WWE legend Hulk Hogan, says the WWE did not invite her to the tributes honoring her late father.
The singer-turned-interior designer posted the message on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday addressing criticism from fans.
“For those of you giving me crap for not attending my Dad’s tributes, the WWE did not extend an invite.”
In a longer post shared to her followers on Tuesday, Olesky said she moved her family to Florida to be closer to her father as he underwent multiple surgeries. But after, what she called “respectful disagreements,” she said she broke off contact with her father within the past two years to “protect her heart.”

However, she revealed that her husband, professional hockey defenseman Steven Oleksy, privately kept in touch with her father without her knowing as a way to try “to find a safe way back in” for her.
“In the end, he continued to be a financial success for man. This was the last thing I wanted for him- he’s been working and tearing his body apart his entire life,” she continued.
In the end, Olesky said she knows in her heart she “did everything” she could.
“He knew I would run through a burning building for him. And in many ways, along the path of life, I did. He knows how deeply, how hard, and how purely I loved him. I am at peace knowing this.”
The statement comes as TMZ reports that two years ago, Hogan’s daughter asked to be taken out of his will over a lack of trust in the people around him. She reportedly had concerns over being caught in a financial battle over his estate.
The “About Us” singer and her husband welcomed fraternal twins in January. Shortly afterwards, she addressed her issues with her family because her mother, Linda, posted to social media saying her daughter hadn’t spoken to the family in years. She said they weren’t invited to her wedding and didn’t know about her pregnancy.
“For my own journey to healing and happiness, I have chosen to create some distance between myself and my family, and am focusing on people and things that heal my heart and align with my own personal beliefs, goals and values. I wish him well,” Olesky said in a post.
Olesky is the eldest child and only daughter of Hogan and Linda. The couple also has a son, Nick. The couple married in 1983 and divorced in 2009.
Hogan, born Terry Bollea, passed away on Aug. 11 at 71 years old.
