A Navy plane crashed in a field Wednesday, igniting a 10-acre fire in Fresno County, authorities said.
The F-35C “Rough Raiders” jet crashed around 6:40 p.m. near the Naval Air Station (NAS) Lemoore.
The pilot was safe after ejecting from the plane successfully, according to officials. No additional personnel were affected, NAS Lemoore wrote.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
