Summer is in full swing at the Rancho Santa Fe Library. Come by to pick up your next great read and enjoy the cool air conditioning with plenty of quiet seating.

Gently Hugged: Help Babies in Need in July and August

Gently Hugged collects gently used or new infant clothing in sizes newborn to 12-months, as well as handmade items, books, toys and shoes. These items are packed and distributed through agencies to babies in need in the San Diego area. Drop off items for donation at the Rancho Santa Fe Library. July Deals at The Book Cellar

During this month, you can buy a hardback fiction book and get a second one for half price! The prices at the cellar are already enticing, so this deal should give you an extra reason to stop by and pick up your summer reading.

Exhibition by the Rancho Santa Fe Art Guild

July 12 to Aug. 29. The Rancho Santa Fe Art Guild hosts a display called, “The Sea.” It will be in the Media Room at the Rancho Santa Fe Library, Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a reception on Thursday, Aug. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. This event is for those 13 years of age and up. Refreshments provided.

Writers Group

Every second Wednesday from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

Are you competent, diligent, and amiable writer of fiction or narrative non-fiction? Then join us as we meet to discuss the creative process, mechanics of craft, and representation and happenings in the publishing world. We also talk about books, films and more. The next meeting will be Aug. 13.

Chair Yoga

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m.

Join us for some gentle chair yoga with Silver Age Yoga. Space is limited to 25 and is on first-come first-served basis.

Meditation and Mindfulness

Wednesdays, 10 a.m.

Discover simple, effective ways to reduce stress and bring balance and happiness into your life. This special program is limited to 20 participants.

American Flag Drop Off

If it’s time to retire your American Flag, please drop it off at the library. There is a drop box and your flag will be treated with respect.

Battery Drop Off at Library

The Rancho Santa Fe Library is a safe place to dispose of small batteries, including A, AA, AAA, C, lithium (with taped covered ends), cell phone and other small batteries. Do your part to stop pollution by bringing this toxic trash to the library. The drop-off program is in partnership with Universal Waste.

Seeds and Sustainability

The Rancho Santa Fe Library is a seed library too! Come by to pick up two free seed varieties that you can take home and plant.

Fun for Children and Tweens

Bring your young ones to the library for these special events and fun daily events.

Mondays: Cut, Color & Create: Kids’ Art Buffet at 2 p.m.Tuesdays: Preschool Storytime at 10:30 a.m.; Lego Lab at 2 p.m.Wednesdays: Toddler Storytime at 10:30 a.m.Thursdays: Baby Storytime at 10:30 a.m.; Thrilling Thursdays at 2 p.m.Fridays: Fun Movie Friday at 2 p.m.Saturday: Board Game Bash, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
