
Authorities arrested a driver after several pedestrians were hit in the Chinatown area in Los Angeles, authorities said Friday.
Fire crews responded to a report of an accident around 11:47 a.m. on the 100 block of W. Alpine Street.
According to authorities, several pedestrians were injured, including 1-year-old twins who were inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested several blocks away from the scene.
Initial reports said four patients were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals. A fifth person declined medical transport, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). He later said that three people in the vehicle, including the twins, were taken to a nearby hospital.
Information on the patient’s condition was not immediately available.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
