A woman was hospitalized after her SUV rolled and landed on its roof in a crash with a pursuit driver Friday morning in downtown Los Angeles.
The pursuit began at around 7:25 a.m. after a report of a stolen pickup. The driver led officers on a high-speed pursuit that ended in a crash on Washington Boulevard and Trinity Street.
The victim’s black SUV tumbled into a sunken vacant lot and flipped over, ending up on its roof. She was transported to a hospital.
Details about her condition were not available early Friday. Video showed the driver crawling out of the upside-down SUV through a driver’s side window.
The owner of the stolen pickup truck arrived at the crash scene later Friday morning.
“I’m sad that he hurt this person. Not only did he mess up my life, but he’s messed up somebody else’s life, too,” he said.
