San Diego police were investigating a suspected murder-suicide Saturday after officers found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound and a man’s body inside an Oak Park home.

Police responded to the home on Timothy Drive near 55th Street shortly before 9:50 a.m. after someone called to report a domestic violence shooting, said homicide Lt. Arturo Swadener.

Officers rendered aid to the injured woman, who had been shot in her upper torso, but she died before she could be taken to a hospital. Officers found the dead man in a separate room. He had a gunshot wound to his head, police said.

The man and woman were both in their 50s. Their names were not released.

Police asked anyone with information about the incident to call homicide investigators at 619-531-2293 or contact San Diego Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
