It has been an amazing few months for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and his wife, Jenna.
The couple announced the arrival of their first child, Millie Joleen Purdy, on Monday morning via social media.
“Life just became a whole lot sweeter,” Jenna wrote on her Instagram account under a photo of the couple holding their newborn child.
Brock was excused from 49ers practice on Friday for a personal reason. He returned to work on Sunday and was seen receiving congratulations from some of his teammates and staff members as the players took the field.
“Yeah, Brock had some family stuff (Saturday),” 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said Sunday after practice. “All good news. I’m sure he’ll tell you guys when he talks to you guys next.
“But, yeah, Brock was back and didn’t miss a beat, and it was a good day off for him.”
Purdy signed a five-year, $265 million contract extension with the 49ers in May after excelling in 46 starts, including six in the postseason. He placed fourth in the NFL MVP voting in 2023 and was chosen as the NFC Pro Bowl team’s starting quarterback.
He and Jenna were married on March 9, 2024, in a ceremony in Des Moines, Iowa, with approximately 350 guests in attendance.
Brock Purdy, who grew up in Arizona, played college football at Iowa State. Jenna Purdy, nee Brandt, a native of Sumner, Iowa, played volleyball at Iowa State.
